Exhibition vs William Henry Harrison High School - West Lafayette The weather couldn’t have been much better for our exhibition meet with Harrison. The Unified Kats had a strong early-season showing, even without official results in hand. Once those are sent out, we’ll provide a full rundown of the meet. Designed as an exhibition, the focus was on getting marks in the field events and establishing baseline times on the track. Across the field events, the shot put group stood out with several impressive throws. Many of those same athletes pulled double duty, stepping onto the track for the 100 meters as well, adding another layer of challenge to their performances. In the long jump, the team saw multiple big efforts, including several personal records, a sign that athletes are already finding their rhythm. On the track, there was clear momentum. Multiple runners set personal bests in both the 100-meter and 400-meter races, showing progress in both sprint speed and endurance. The meet also introduced a new 4x100 meter relay lineup for the Kats, giving the team a chance to test combinations and build chemistry. The relay teams delivered some of the biggest highlights of the night. The 4x200 meter team and the girls’ 4x100 meter team unofficially broke team records. Even in a meet without scoring, those performances added a competitive edge and set a high standard moving forward. Overall, the event served its purpose well. It gave athletes valuable reps, built confidence, and created early-season momentum. We look to build on this performance heading into our first invitational of the season. at West Lafayette on April 25.
