The Kokomo Wildkats hosted conference foe Logansport and lost to the visitors by a score of 6-3. In a game which featured nine goals - and a host of missed opportunities for the Wildkats at the end of the match, the Berries overwhelmed the Kats at the start of the second half to take the victory. In a season where the Wildkats have struggled to get out on the front foot, they were unable to flip the script when they conceded a penalty kick in the 12th minute which Logansport scored to take a 1-0 lead. With under a minute to play in the first half, the Wildkats connected several passes down the left flank of the field, the last of which resulted in a cross from Senior Igor Oliviera Alves which found Junior Javier Carrera in box. After a Logansport defender took him down in the box, Carrera neatly finished the PK to deadlock the match at 1-1 going into the half. To open the second half, the Berries blitzed the Wildkats, scoring three times in the first eight minutes to blow open the game at 4-1. After a fifth Berrie goal, the Wildkats got back on track when Junior Lorezno Del Bo fired a shot into the right upper 90 to cut the lead to 5-2. Moments later, Junior co-captain Ben Herrera finished a shot from the top of box after a nice combination play to bring the Kats closer at 5-3. The Kats continued to create chances at goal, but could not put any of them away, and the Berries scored the final goal and took the win by a final score of 6-3. Your men of the match are Juniors Javier Carrera and Ben Herrera. The Junior Varsity could not repeat its last performance, and dropped its match by a score of 5-1. The Wildkats (3-7-0, 1-4-0) host conference foe Anderson Saturday for Senior Day.
