Varsity vs Yorktown High School (4 - 1) Loss The Lady Kats tennis team traveled to Yorktown to open the season against a veteran and experienced team. Last season the Kats were a regional finalist team, but only two varsity members from that squad returned. Our JV tonight played with only one girl who played JV last season. This Yorktown team beat us 4-1 last season and returned most of their lineup. They were too much for us tonight, but I was proud of our effort and attitude while playing a more seasoned team. We will continue to grow from this as the girls are already ready to return to practice to get better. That’s all a coach can really ask for! The highlight of the evening was a win at 2 singles by Averie Stiner.
