Boys Swimming 2026 Sectional Finals Saturday afternoon the Katfish traveled to Carmel High School to compete in the final round of sectionals. Competitors included those who finished in the top-16 at Thursday night’s prelims… the consolation heat included those who placed (9th - 16th), and the finals heat (1st - 8th). Relay Results The 200 Medley Relay with the team of Carter McClain, Zavier Larmer, Tae Ow Kanayama, and Oliver Taskey finished in 6th place with a time of 1:51.95. The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Carter McClain, Zavier Larmer, Phenix Bray, and Hutch Munsey earned an 8th place finish with a time of 1:42.98. And capping off the day for the Katfish was the 400 Freestyle team of Oliver Taskey, Ethan Lytle, Hutch Munsey, and Tae Ow Kanayama who earned a 10th place finish with a time of 3:53.82. Individual Results Tae Ow Kanayama dropped 1.46 seconds from Thursday’s prelims to earn a 12th place finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 56.85. Carter McClain gave it his all in the 100 Backstroke, earning a 16th place finish with a time of 1:08.42. Each season is different in having its unique ups and downs, and this season was incredibly unorthodox to say the least. I’m incredibly proud of how our boys faced that adversity head-on and continued to give their all in practice and competition. Overall, the Katfish finished as a team in 9th place scoring 68 points. To our rookie-seniors (Arthur & Anh), it’s been such a joy getting to know you this season. Your outgoing personalities made practices such fun each and every day! I’m so proud of you all for stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying something new and appreciate your help in and out of the pool all season! And to my four-year senior, Ethan “Better Ethan” Lytle… It's difficult to express my gratitude for everything you’ve done for the Katfish swim program over the past four years. Watching you transform from a timid rookie to a distance swimming team captain has been an absolute joy. Your leadership, sense of humor, hilariously honest takes, and professional presence will be missed dearly next season. I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. You will always be a Katfish. Thank you for everything, it’s been one heck of a ride! Proud to be a Katfish! Coach Whiteman
