On Saturday the Wildkats traveled to the Tippecanoe Amphitheater to race in the Harrison Invitational. It was a great day of racing overall for our Kats, as they placed 22nd out of 27 teams. 5 out of our 6 varsity runners set new PR’s and our other runner set a season best. I thought our guys raced well and competed against a very strong field. Cooper Cage was first in for the Kats, as he placed 47th with a time of 17:12, which is a new PR for him. Following Cooper were juniors Kelton Serra & Connor Frederick, as they ran 18:34 & 18:38 respectively, which is a new PR for both runners. Connor ran in the 18’s for the first time ever and his PR was almost a 40 second drop. Ben Wallace was next in as ran 20 minutes even which is a 22 second PR for him & Braxton Frederick also ran a PR with a time of 21:53. Overall our guys are starting to figure things out and are starting to race well each week. I am excited to see them continue to improve throughout the season. We race next on Saturday September 9th in the Wildcat Classic at IWU in Marion. GO KATS!! Coach Ousley
