Huskies Halt Wildkats

The Kokomo Wildkats hosted non-conference foe Hamilton Heights Thursday and fell to the visitors by a score of 4-2. The undefeated Huskies possessed the ball well and put the Wildkats under pressure quickly. The Huskies stole the ball from the Wildkats on the right flank and fired home the first goal in the fourth minute past senior goalkeeper Max Feuerle who ended up recording six saves on the night. The Huskies score once more before halftime to build a 2-0 lead. In the second half, the Wilkats regrouped and scored off of sophomore Adrian Reyes’s free kick which was tucked into the goal by freshman Eli Roe to cut the lead in half with 20 minutes to play. After a third Huskie goal, senior Flory Bidunga dribbled past a Huskie defender on the right side of the box, dribbled past the keeper, and notched another tally just under six minutes to play to bring the Wildkats within one. Bidunga has played six matches this fall and has scored in five of them. Although freshman keeper Ethan Landrum made a fantastic penalty kick save in the second half, with just over two minutes to play, the Huskies finished the game off by scoring their fourth goal when the Wildkat defense was exposed in the center of the pitch. The Wildkats (2-5-0, 0-2-0) travel to conference foes McCutcheon and Lafayette Jeff next week.
