Girls Swimming 2025 Sectional Prelims Thursday night the Katfish traveled to Carmel High School to compete in the preliminary round of the toughest girls swim sectional in the state. Prelims are all about swimming your best in hopes of earning a top-16 finish for a chance to swim again Saturday… in either the consolation (places 16-9) or finals (8-1) heat with the opportunity to advance to the state finals. Top Relay Results The Katfish started out earning 7th place in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Maddie Armstrong, Shanna Fowler, Morgan Rakestraw, and Clarissa Landrum. Keeping the momentum going; the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Morgan Rakestraw, Maddie Armstrong, Alyssa Frederick, and Shanna Fowler earned a 5th place finish. Finishing off the night for the Katfish was the 400 Freestyle team of Clarissa Landrum, Emma Di Stafano, Gretchen Riggle, and Alyssa Frederick who earned a 10th place finish heading into Saturday. Top Individual Results Leading the Katfish into sectional finals on Saturday are (seniors) Maddie Armstrong & Morgan Rakestraw, (junior) Alyssa Frederick, and (freshman) Shanna Fowler. Armstrong earned the 15th spot in the 200 IM & the 12th spot in the 100 Backstroke. Morgan Rakestraw earned the 12th spot in the 200 IM & the 12th spot in the 100 Butterfly.
