Kats Edge Argylls

The Kokomo Wildkats closed out their dual meet season with a hard-fought 43–35 victory over Madison Grant, showing toughness and composure from start to finish. In a meet that featured several momentum swings, the Kats did what they have done all season—found ways to win key matches and secure bonus points when it mattered most. Leading the way for Kokomo were wins from 106-pounder Dorian Barbour, 113 Josh Sawyer-May, and 120 Waylon Mossholder, setting the tone in the lighter weights. Their performances gave the Wildkats an early boost and kept pressure on Madison Grant throughout the dual. Each match was contested, but Kokomo’s discipline and pace proved to be the difference. The middle and upper weights continued that momentum as Christien Damewood (144), Joelle Nieto (150), and Rave Arthur (165) all picked up important victories. In the upper weights, Sebastien Klueh (215) and heavyweight Stacy Rund capped off the night with strong wins, helping seal the team score and push Kokomo across the finish line. With the win, the Wildkats finish the dual meet season at an impressive 16–5, a testament to their consistency and growth throughout the year. Kokomo now turns its focus to postseason action, as the Kats will wrestle next on January 31, 2026, at the I.H.S.A.A. Oak Hill Sectional, looking to carry this momentum into tournament competition.
