Saturday morning the Wildkats traveled to Wea Ridge Middle School to participate in the Maverick Stampede. The Kats battled tough conditions, including high humidity and tough hills, to place 5th in the 11 team field. The Kats scored 161 to place 5th, while the Harrison Raiders scored 38 to win the meet. Overall the Kats competed and raced very well despite the tough conditons and I was overall happy with where we finished. Our times were overall slower due to tough course conditions, but the Kats still did their best. Cooper Cage was our lead Kat placing 6th overall to lead the team. Teammates Kelton Serra & Connor Frederick were next in as they continue to race well together. They were followed in by Ben Wallace, Gabe Newland, Preston Arreola, & Braxton Frederick. Our guys are still continuing to develop in this early part of the year, but they are showing growth each week. The next time to catch the Kats in action will be next Saturday as they race in the Harrison Invitational at Tippecanoe Amphitheater. GO KATS!! Coach Jordan Ousley
