On Saturday the Lady Wildkats competed in the Maverick Stampede hosted by McCutcheon. The Kats placed 7th overall with a score of 190, while the Harrison Raiders won the event with a score of 29. The Kats raced well despite the tough racing conditions that included some tough hills and high humidity. For the Wildkats sophomore Morgan Rakestraw was the first runner in taking 63rd place. She was followed by Gretchen Riggle, Christina Durham, Grace Lake, & Maddie Armstrong. The times were slow, but the girls carried out their race strategy well. We were short two girls, but we should have them back next week and be able to run our whole team. Our girls keep working hard in practice and they are making improvements week by week. We will be racing next in the Harrison Invite next Saturday, September 2nd, over at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater with races starting at 9am. Wish the Lady Kats good luck this week when you see them!
