Kats finish Runner-Up

The Kokomo Wildkats delivered an impressive performance at the Western Invitational, finishing 2nd overall in a highly competitive field. From the opening rounds through the finals, the Wildkats showed toughness, depth, and consistency across nearly every weight class, stacking placement points and keeping pressure on the top teams throughout the day. The tournament was highlighted by three individual champions. Dorian Barbour (106) and Josh Sawyer-May (113) both captured 1st place, each scoring 26 team points with dominant runs through their brackets. David Nieto (157) also stood atop the podium, earning 1st place and contributing 23.5 points, providing a major boost to Kokomo’s team total and setting the tone in the middle weights. Strong supporting efforts came from several Wildkats who reached the podium. Devon Rush (175) finished 2nd with 20 points, while Waylon Mossholder (120) and Stacy Rund (285) each earned 3rd-place finishes. X’Avion Ford (132), Christien Damewood (144), and Jacob Hodges (190) all placed 4th, adding valuable points that kept Kokomo firmly in contention for the team title. Depth across the lineup proved to be a key factor in Kokomo’s runner-up finish. Rylan Berry (138) placed 5th, Sebastion Klueh (215) finished 5th, and Rave Aurthur (150) and Shaun Rodgers (165) battled to 6th-place finishes. Every match mattered, and the collective effort across all weights powered the Wildkats to an outstanding 2nd-place team finish at the Western Invitational.
