The Kokomo Wildkats Men’s Soccer team opened the 2023 season at county rival Western and dropped a 4-1 decision to the Panthers. The Wildkats conceded three goals off of Western’s counter attack play in the opening half. The 3-0 deficit at halftime proved to be insurmountable, although the Wildkat attack did generate a nice goal with just over ten minutes to play when Freshman Gavin Rizer switched play and found Senior Desmonte McDonald on the right flank. After Des beat his mark and crossed the ball, Junior Javier Carrera tapped in the goal to close the gap. The Man of the Match is Javier Carrera.
