Penn Invitational

The Lady Kats competed in the Penn Invite Saturday morning/afternoon in Mishawaka. The Lady Kats persevered 40 degree temperatures and a punishing wind chill. Despite the inclement weather, the Lady Kats put up good numbers and performed better than expected. The Penn Invite offers regional level competition and it is not uncommon for teams to not score at all. Our Lady Kats scored 12.5 points when we weren't supposed to score at all Scoring Events: 4x100 Relay 3rd place; seeded 9th Mia Castillo/Jhazlyn McKay/Abrashia Moore/Ma'Kaela Young-Drake 52.31 100 Meter Dash 6th place; seeded 10th Abrashia Moore 13.26 200 Meter Dash 6th place; seeded 10th Abrashia Moore 27.76 High Jump tied for 7th place; seeded 10th Gabrielle Flowers 4'6" Other performances 100 meter dash Ma'Kaela Young-Drake 13.6 100HH Jhazlyn McKay 21.08 200 meter dash Jhazlyn McKay 28.70 400 meter dash Janae Young 1:14.28 800 meter run Morgan Rakestraw 3:08.97/Christina Durham 3:18.71 1600 meter run Gretchen Riggle 6:53.66/Morgan Rakestraw 6:58.48PR Shot Put Layla Ferraro 22' 5" Discus Layla Ferraro 56' 1"PR Getting better with each meet still believing!!!
